May 2010
Monday May 3rd - Legacy Park @ 10:00 a.m. (Jospeh A. Dyke Playground)
Let's meet at Legacy Park at 10:00 am. Address is 901 NE Bluestem Dr. Turn off NE Blackwell Parkway onto NE Legacy Park Drive. Follow NE Legacy Park Drive until you get to NE Bluestem Drive (a noticeable landmark is the softball fields). There is a park there with a web-climber, swings and tunnels! There is also a shaded playground and picnic area for the moms to sit and watch the kids.
Wednesday, May 12th - Harris Park @ 10:00 a.m.
Lee’s Summit’s oldest park is located at Blue Parkway and Jefferson Street. It is 17.9 acres in size and has one picnic shelter with tables, Summit Waves, Harris Park Community Center, .5 mile trail and a large playground area. This park was donated to the city by several citizens in 1918, but it has been a park for as long as LS has been a city.
Address: 601 SW Jefferson St
Lee's Summit, MO 64063
It is in the same park complex as Summit Waves.
Monday, May 17th - Miller J. Fields @ 5:00 p.m.
Let’s bring a picnic dinner and meet at 5:00 p.m. at Miller J. Fields. There is a
shelter house, restrooms, and a playground area for toddlers and one for
older children.
Address: 1301 SE 3rd Terrace Lee's Summit MO 64063
From 291 Highway, go east on 3rd Terrace. Turn right on SE Brentwood Drive, then left on SE 3rd Terrace again. From Langsford Road, go south on SE Circleview Drive.
Due to a lack of competent address on the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation website, I will be replacing visiting the Bryan C. Pottburg Memorial Park on May 25th with Rotary Park in Blue Springs. I will try to get Pottburg back in the schedule after I personally attempt to find it and write decent driving directions.
Rotary Park at Railroad Lake @ 10:00 a.m
Rotary Park at Railroad lake is a treasured and well used park in the Blue Springs community. Rotary Park is a total of 12 acres and is located in central Blue Springs. It also hosts the largest playground in the entire Blue Springs system.
Address: 600 NW Vesper, Blue Springs MO 64015
Dirextions: From Lee's Summit: Right on NE Colbern, then left at 7 Hghwy. Follow 7 for approx. 5 miles - turn right at NW Vesper St.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, thank you for sharing this with us! Have you been to South Lea park? I ran across it a few months ago and thought I'd like to try it out some time - maybe in the summer since it seemed like it had plenty of shade.
LnL'sFam: We're planning on going there later this summer!
